Since 2015, the Society for Empowerment, Service, Training and Awareness Australia (SESTAA) has been providing funds to enable assessment and therapeutic services to scores of children (0 to 14 years) with developmental disabilities in India. Our funds help provide basic care through a physiotherapist, special educator and speech therapist and also provide counselling to parents for management of the children.
We are launching a new initiative to provide financial support to children with cancer for their initial assessment and treatment at the Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI). SESTAA members are also helping the Khalsa Centre in Guwahati construct a community kitchen and store room in the premises of the BBCI to feed low-income families seeking treatment at the hospital.
