SESTAA has been proactive in raising public awareness of the rights and issues of the
disabled and disadvantaged through participation in community festivals, discussion groups, and publications.
During field visits to India members have also taken the opportunity to address the general public in meetings and group discussions. Increased awareness has been observed in some organisations eg RVC, Dhemaji enquiring about how to accommodate the specific needs of the disabled in their flood shelters.
